holiday tweet drive

holiday tweet drive

the holidays are all about giving, family, friends, community, and of course, snacking. those five things also make the perfect recipe for my social good campaign, tweet drive, a global toy drive i created in 2010 that brings together social media communities around the world to spread smiles to children during the holiday season.

guest blogger: harrison kratz, tweet drive founder & ceo

on the surface when we started, we had giving, family, friends, and community but were lacking in the food department. that is where popchips came in. not only are popchips a delicious snack, but also their entire company culture just screams “let’s party!” for us, we wanted to give back in a fun manner, and we couldn’t have asked for a better brand to partner with.

after tweetin’ and snackin’ our way last year to over 2,000 collected toys, we have a much bigger appetite this year. with over 50 cities participating and over 600 collected toys through our first two tweet drive events this year, we’re in for a great holiday season.

we’re also excited because we have upped the ante with our partnership with popchips! not only will many of our attendees throughout north america be snackin’ on popchips, but we’ve also developed the “challenges for charity” campaign with SCVNGR and popchips, where attendees at several of our major events will enjoy completing challenges on SCVNGR’s location-based app. the city that completes the most tweet drive and popchips themed challenges as a group will receive a $1,000 donation to a local charity of their choice. talk about giving back with some pop!

all in all though, this is more than snacks, tweeting, or the holidays. this is about bringing communities together to create a fun culture of giving back to those who need it most and i am thrilled to have popchips apart of that culture we have worked so hard to create at tweet drive.

happy snackin’ and holiday season everyone!
