torii hunter teams up with popchips game changers to support autism youth sports league
inspiring. admirable. game changing. those are just a few ways we’d describe the incredible day we had chipping in for autism youth sports league (aysl) with anaheim game changer torii hunter.
from batting practice, to pitching drills, games, and (of course) lots of popchips snacking, we enjoyed an afternoon full of fun activities with torii and more than 50 kids from the aysl.
showing his sincere passion for helping kids with autism, torii also hosted a question and answer session with the kids, during which he shared these profoundly moving words of wisdom: “if you have a dream you have to believe in it, when you believe in that dream you can achieve it. don’t let fear or doubt interfere as they will choke the life from your dream.”
we’d like to sincerely thank the angels for donating tickets for the aysl kids, parents & staff to attend torii’s game following our event. we’d also like to thank our amazing retail partner, ralphs, for their incredibly generous donation to the aysl. and, of course, we’d like to thank our anaheim game changer, torii hunter, for helping us make a difference for such a worthy cause!
about autism youth sports league: in 2009, lori mancini realized she wanted to find a sports program that would benefit her autistic son. she presented the idea of creating a division for autistic children to san dimas little league. this division became known as the “a-league”. in 2010, lora and manuel zapata decided to create autism youth sports league. autism youth sports league became the first non-profit sports league in california to offer year-round traditional sports programs to autistic children. autism youth sports league is always seeking sponsorships and donations to allow the league to expand, create new programs and continue to spread autism awareness.
