popchip’s i’m in love!

The other day I had this awesome workout with a friend that left us starving, so we decided to  stop at the grocery store to grab a quick snack. As soon as we entered the store, my friend headed to the middle aisle and picked up a bag of Popchips. Naturally, I started freaking out on her saying, “Why would you throw your workout down the drain by eating potato chips?”
She told me to chill out because Popchips aren’t as fatty nor are they fried like regular potato chips. So, of course after hearing that I had to give them a try.

ONE BITE LATER…..

…I became a believer of the product! Seriously, who wouldn’t fall in love with a tasty nosh that is so sinless? I became addicted to their plain version, well…until I had the bbq!
Now they have Katy’s Kettle Corn, (yes Katy Perry) and I think I may have died and gone to heaven!

healthy snacks

I love snacking just like anybody else. Chips and salsa, CARBS, Diet Cokes, and sweet treats are my vice. After finally realizing that I could work out all day yet still not make any progress toward reaching my fitness goals due to what I was eating, I decided to make some permanent changes.

Calorie tracking program I use from BodyMedia. Helps me keep a balanced diet and stay on track.
80% of your progress comes from your nutrition and 20% comes from working out (I learned this from a little book called PUSH).

I’ve therefore made a conscious effort to eat cleaner with the help of Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset program, and as a result have been on a mission to replace many of my unhealthy snacks with healthier alternatives that are surprisingly satisfying!

All-Natural Pop Chips for Greasy Potato Chips – I recently discovered Pop Chips because of people posting about them on Instagram, and I’m HOOKED! While the alternative above is probably a healthier choice, Pop Chips are a great replacement for

These are AWESOME and crazy addictive. Warning: Don’t eat from the bag!
almost any kind of chip and they definitely help curb your carb cravings. You can find them at Target grocery stores, Trader Joes, and Whole Foods.

Pop Chips are all-natural, popped slices of potato (never baked or fried). My FAVORITE is the barbeque flavor – tastes just like BBQ potato chips. The regular kind tastes like your typical potato chip.

I love that you can have about 20 chips for just 120 calories and about 4g of fat, so it’s a satisfying snack. However, I highly recommend NOT eating from the bag. Remove a serving, and put the bag away, or you WILL eat the entire bag all at once… not joking!

reasons dieters should eat popchips

Last night after my Power Vinyasa class, I was in a snacky mood. I went through all my cupboards for anything to devour, and what did I find? A brand new bag of BBQ POP CHIPS!!! Here are the reasons these really are a great snack food for anyone:

#1 The entire bag is 360 calories… THE ENTIRE BAG! I never knew this until I devoured 2/3 of a bag last night, and looked at the facts afterwards. No guilt! That’s the equivalent of about 20 Ruffle’s chips.

#2 They are all natural. No fake colors, no fake ingredients and

no preservatives. They are also are vegan and gluten-free!

#3 Pop Chips are delicious and satisfying. It feels like you are indulging because you get that crunchy, salty chip-like texture and flavor. My husband will even eat them! (I haven’t told him they are “healthy”)

#4 It’s Jillian Michaels favorite snack

sour cream & onion taste test.

Posted on: August 6th, 2011 by slashfood editor No Comments

in our last installment of potato chip taste tests, we take on the potent sour cream and onion flavor. we gathered more than 10 of the most popular brands (found in most tri-state-area supermarkets) and separated them into three categories: regular, kettle and an alternative.

in the end, we chose an overall winner for each category and one loser (which was clearly the worst chip of the bunch).

our panel says: “could tell off the bat that this wasn’t a regular chip, but somehow they still managed to pack a lot of flavor and crunch into it.” “compared with the others, this chip is golden — better for you and still satisfies the sour cream craving.” “chips that are baked not fried tend to have less sour cream and onion coating — not these chips!”
